10 Best AI Consulting Firms in 2026, by Size and Price
[ SUMMARIZE WITH AI ]
The best AI consulting firm depends on your company's size and budget more than on any ranking. For enterprises with compliance needs, PwC and EY were both named Leaders in the Forrester Wave: AI Consulting Services, Q2 2026. For mid-size builds, firms such as BlueLabel and Sigmoidal take projects in the tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars. For companies under 100 staff, boutique firms (RaftLabs, Cieden, BotsCrew, AIessentials) publish lower hourly rates or fixed prices. We are on this list, so we tell you where we are not the right fit.
Enterprise (250+ staff): PwC and EY. Built for governance, security and multi-department programs. Neither publishes prices. Mid-market builds (50-250 staff): BlueLabel, Sigmoidal, LeewayHertz, Master of Code. Custom AI products and assistants, with minimums that start in the tens of thousands. Small business (5-100 staff): RaftLabs, Cieden, BotsCrew, AIessentials. Advice plus build, with hourly rates or fixed packages. The catch with most "best firms" lists: The ones we checked are written by firms that rank themselves, and almost none show prices. Our disclosure: AIessentials (aiessentials.us) is one of the ten and the only one with prices on its own service pages. Weigh our entry accordingly.

If you have ever read a "top AI consulting firms" article and ended up with ten names you could not afford, this one is built the other way around: size first, firm second.
Two earlier guides on this site cover neighboring ground. AI Consulting Companies for Digital Transformation sorts providers by type (enterprise, boutique, freelancer, in-house) and does not name firms. Choosing Your AI Consulting Partner is the vetting checklist. This post does the one job those two skip: it names firms and shows what each is for.

How We Picked and What We Could Not Verify
We read the pages that currently rank for this query and the firms' own comparison pages. Two patterns showed up.
First, self-ranking. RaftLabs' list for small businesses says it "sits at the top of this list." Cieden's guide puts Cieden first in its table of twelve. Both say the rankings are honest, and both may be, but a list written by a participant is an ad with a methodology section. We are in the same position, which is why this one is sorted by company size rather than ranked 1 to 10.
Second, missing prices. Of the firms below, only some publish a rate. Where a number comes from a competitor's comparison page, we say so. Treat those figures as a starting question for the sales call, not a quote.
The size context matters. The U.S. Census Bureau's Business Trends and Outlook Survey found 19.8% of firms using AI as of May 3, 2026. Adoption was 37% at firms with 250+ employees and 32% at firms with 100 to 249. Fewer than 20% of firms with four or fewer employees reported using it. Most of the market is early, so most buyers are choosing a first consultant, not a tenth.
The 10 Firms, by Business Size
| Firm | Best fit | Pricing signal (and source) | Not the right pick if |
|---|---|---|---|
| PwC | Enterprise, regulated | Not published. Named a Leader in Forrester's Q2 2026 Wave | Your budget is under six figures |
| EY | Enterprise, governance and security | Not published. Named a Leader in the same Wave | You need one workflow fixed in weeks |
| Sigmoidal | Data science teams for mid-to-large companies | Most common project $200,000-$999,999 (per Cieden) | You are under 50 staff |
| BlueLabel | Funded teams building AI products | $100-$149/hr, $75,000+ minimum (per Cieden) | You want an off-the-shelf tool configured |
| LeewayHertz | Fast generative AI prototypes and internal tools | $50-$99/hr or custom quote (per Cieden) | You need a fixed price up front |
| Master of Code Global | Customer-facing AI assistants | $50-$99/hr or custom quote (per Cieden) | Your use case is back-office, not customer-facing |
| BotsCrew | Chatbots and workflow agents | $50-$99/hr or custom quote (per Cieden) | You do not want a chatbot |
| Cieden | AI product strategy with a design lens | $50-$99/hr (own page) | You need automation built, not designed |
| RaftLabs | Advice plus build for small teams | $29-$49/hr, fixed-price options, advisory-plus-build from the low-to-mid five figures (own page) | You need a multi-department enterprise program |
| AIessentials | U.S. small B2B companies with one costly manual process | Published: $300-$3,747 per automation, $1,500 AI audit, $400-$1,000 per team-training session | You need compliance sign-off or a multi-department program |
Two caveats. Cieden's own table and profiles do not always agree on prices, so the "per Cieden" figures are the least reliable in the table. And the rates above are hourly, which tells you less than total project cost; ask each firm for a fixed-scope first project.
How AIessentials fits, honestly
We build automations for small B2B companies in n8n, Make and similar tools, and we sell a $1,500 AI audit and team training sessions. If your problem is one process that eats hours every week, have us scope and build it. We do not do multi-year programs, and we will say so on the first call. Our guarantee is a 60-day money-back guarantee: if you don't get the outcomes we agree on upfront within 60 days of kickoff, we refund your service fee.

How the Tiers Differ in Practice
Enterprise firms sell programs. The Forrester Wave: AI Consulting Services, Q2 2026 evaluated 10 providers on strategy, current offering and customer feedback, according to EY's announcement. The report excerpt IBM published notes that providers are moving away from time-and-materials pricing toward results-based models, which is worth asking about on any enterprise call.
Mid-market builders sell software engineering with AI inside. You get strong engineering and, usually, a project manager. You also get minimums. If a firm quotes $75,000 for a problem you can describe in two sentences, ask what the first $5,000 would deliver.
Small-business firms sell a narrow result. The honest ones separate "advice" from "build," and say when an off-the-shelf tool is enough. That is the test we used on RaftLabs' stated criteria ("honesty about off-the-shelf tools") and it is the test to apply to us.

What the Wrong Tier Costs You
Take a 25-person B2B company where one manual process (quote follow-up, intake, invoicing) eats 15 hours a week at a loaded $35/hour. That is 15 x $35 x 52 = $27,300 a year.
| Route | Cost | Hours recovered (assumed 70%) | Payback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enterprise program (about $250,000, our types guide rule of thumb) | $250,000 | $19,110/yr | About 13 years |
| Mid-market build (BlueLabel-style $75,000 minimum) | $75,000 | $19,110/yr | About 3.9 years |
| Fixed-price automation at our top published price | $3,747 | $19,110/yr | About 10 weeks |
| Hourly boutique at $50-$99/hr, 60 hours of work | $3,000-$5,940 | $19,110/yr | About 8 to 16 weeks |
These are assumptions, not client results: your hours, wage and capture rate will differ, and the ROI calculator lets you put in your own. The point is the order of magnitude. A tier mismatch turns a payback measured in weeks into one measured in years, before the project has even started.

Who This Is For
This is ideal for:
- Owners of 5-100 person companies shortlisting a first AI consultant who want named options and rough prices.
- Operations leads asked to "find an AI partner" who need to explain why the cheapest and most famous options are both wrong.
- Buyers who have already read a self-ranked list and want to cross-check it.
Consider alternatives if:
- You are a regulated enterprise. Start from the Forrester Wave itself, not a blog post.
- You only need a tool configured. A freelancer or a vendor's own onboarding is cheaper than any firm here.
Why AIessentials specifically? We publish prices ($300-$3,747 per automation, $1,500 audit), we work with U.S. small B2B companies, and we offer a 60-day money-back guarantee. We are also the author of this list, which is why it is sorted by size rather than ranked.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best AI consulting firms in 2026?
There is no single best firm, only a best fit for your size and budget. PwC and EY were named Leaders in Forrester's Q2 2026 Wave for enterprise work. Under 100 staff, boutique firms such as RaftLabs, Cieden, BotsCrew and AIessentials publish lower rates or fixed prices. Match the tier first, then compare firms inside it.
Which top AI consulting firms publish services and case studies?
Most of the firms above publish service descriptions and case studies on their own sites, and BlueLabel, Sigmoidal and Master of Code link specific projects. Almost none publish total prices. AIessentials does not yet publish client case studies, so we describe scope and prices instead of results. Ask any firm for references you can call.
Which AI consulting firms rank in the global top 10 for enterprise AI work?
The Forrester Wave: AI Consulting Services, Q2 2026 evaluated 10 providers. PwC and EY have announced Leader placements. Other firms reported as Leaders could not be confirmed against the report itself, so check Forrester directly. Enterprise rankings are written for buyers with six-figure budgets and compliance needs.
Conclusion
- Pick the tier before the firm. Size and budget decide more than reputation.
- Treat any list written by a participant, including this one, as a starting point.
- Ask every firm for a fixed-scope first project and a total price, not an hourly rate.
